An incredibly versatile oil; Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil has many aromatherapy applications.  When burned or vaporised it can help to protect against airborne viruses or infections and may help to soothe the symptoms of a cough or a cold, flu, sinusitis and cattarh.  It can also be blended in a carrier oil for a muscle and joint ease massage. Its stimulating properties may make it useful in helping to improve circulation and reduce muscular aches and pains (the Aborigines would have applied the crushed leaves to the skin to help ease muscular aches and pains and to help speed up the healing of wounds).

To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go. Dilute in distilled water and pour into spray bottle for an all-natural room fragrancer.
You may find that Lemon Eucalyptus blends particularly well with Lavender, Peppermint, Thyme, Rosemary, Frankincense, Vetivert, Coriander and Juniperberry.
Native to Australia, now found in China and elsewhere in the Southern Hemisphere.
Add a few drops to a bowl of warm water and use in a steam inhalation when the sinuses are blocked - bring the head over the bowl and cover head with towel. Remain here for several minutes inhaling the steam. Place a few drops on to a cotton pad and place under pillow before bed to help you get some rest if you are feeling bunged up. Add a few drops to a handkerchief and keep with you if your're suffering from a blocked nose or cold. Add 2-3 drops to a warm bath to help ease sore muscles and refresh the senses. Add 3-4 drops to a burner to enjoy its uplifting and refreshing fragrance.

Dilute in a carrier oil before skin application. Keep away from children and out of eyes. Do not take internally or apply undiluted to the skin. For further advice on using essential oils to treat medical conditions, we recommend you seek advice from a professional.

This is my favorite type of eucalyptus because it not only smells divine in my room diffuser blend,it also helped me with my allergic rhinitis with dry cough. I blended it with lavender essential oil in apricot kernel oil base and sniff it thru a tissue. A few days use is all I needed and my cough miraculously gone for good!
