Extraction: 

Valerian Root essential oil is the volatile oil obtained by steam distillation from the root of the Valerian Plant.

Properties: 

Stress realising, calming and relaxing, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, tranquilizer and temperature reducing. Bactericidal, antidandruff, hypotensive as well as a depressant on the central nervous system.

Usage & methods of application: 

Valerian Root essential oil can be effective in treating sleeping disorders such as insomnia and may also be used to relive symptoms caused by PMS such as headaches, diarrhea, stomach cramps, fatigue, migraines and indigestion.

Known to help lower blood pressure, stimulate the appetite and improve digestion, Valerian Root is calming and relaxing on the nervous system and can be beneficial for depression, restlessness, anxiety, stress and emotional trauma.

Valerian Root is known to be effective in helping horses that are wild, jittery and nervous, often helping to calm and relax.
