One of the most renowned spices used in the ancient practice of Ayurveda where it has been used to address numerous medical conditions. Rich in antioxidants, it may be useful used in skincare to help revitalise the skin, in massage to help ease sore muscles and joints and vaporised help relieve feelings of anxiety. 

Turmeric essential oil has been shown by scientific research conducted between 1971 and 1991 have a stronger action than hydrocortisone.  As an oil, it's also used in perfumery especially in fragrances with an oriental influence.

It's a lovely oil to use in massage to help detoxify the body (ensure to dilute to a maximum of 1% before skin application).

To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go.
You might find Turmeric blends especially well with Ginger, Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage and Frankincense.
Major produced in South Asian countries which provide appropriate weather and soil conditions for the Turmeric plant to grow.
Dilute to 1% with a base lotion or cream and use as a skincare preparation to ease irritation and promote a healthy glow. Diffuse in a oil burner or vaporiser to help you relax and revive. Add a few drops to shampoo to help reduce the appearance of dandruff and soothe an irritated scalp. Dilute 2-3 drops in a carrier oil and use in massage to help soothe tired muscles.

Turmeric has been used for centuries in Chinese Herbal applications.
