Our latest Blog series offers a variety of ways that essential oils and Aromatherapy can help to make sure your Valentine’s Day goes with a swing! In part 3 we have a more masculine blend for massage and vaporising. Click to discover more.

You may be looking for a more masculine blend so you can treat your man this Valentine’s Day? There must be some men out there who deserve a treat!

Why not give this lovely combination a try? We’ve chosen three essential oils which complement each other perfectly. Together, they offer a rich, earthy & musky aroma with a sweet finish which can be enjoyed by both you and your partner.

It's divisive because people either love or hate the aroma, but Patchouli oil is a renowned aphrodisiac. It is thought to stimulate the sexual hormones for both men and women, helping to increase libido and put a spark into the bedroom. If you really can't stand the aroma of Patchouli then try Vetivert instead.

Also considered to be a natural aphrodisiac is Sandalwood. A profoundly calming oil which is lovely to use during times when you and your partner wish to relax and unwind together. It adds a wonderful woody and sweet aroma to this blend.

Orange essential oil helps to lift and brighten this earthy blend by adding a sweet and fruity top note. Orange essential oil is bursting with uplifting properties to help you and your partner relax and revive.

For this blend, take an empty bottle (our amber 100ml plastic bottles would be ideal) and add:

Ingredients:

60ml Grapeseed Carrier Oil – Light, non greasy and easily absorbed by the skin.

20 drops of Orange essential oil

15 drops of Sandalwood Australian essential oil. (for a more affordable option, you can replace Sandalwood with Cedarwood).

10 drops of Patchouli essential oil (or Vetivert if you're not a Patchouli fan).

Method:

Add the Grapeseed Oil to the empty bottle and then add the essential oils one by one. Shake gently before each use to ensure the oils are blended.

To Use:

Pour a little of the blend into the palm of your hand or directly on to your partners body. Communicate with them to understand where they do and don’t like to be massaged and how much pressure to use. Then let your hands do the work!

Alternatively the above essential oils can be added to a burner or vaporiser. Try adding 3 drops Orange, 2 drops Sandalwood and 1 drop Patchouli to create a sensual and sexy aroma.
