All this week we’ve been giving you some great ideas for solid perfumes. They’re perfect as Christmas gifts. Today we have an aftershave version!

There are many essential oils with a woody or spicy scent that make for a more masculine scent.

Many of those pricey aftershaves that you see on the shelves will contain at least one (sometimes many more) essential oils. So, we thought we’d put together an all-natural solid aftershave blend for the chaps. Geezers. Lads. Gents!

This blend has an attractive musky undertone with a light and intriguing top note.

You’ll need:

  • 4 tablespoons Beeswax Pellets
  • 4 tablespoons carrier / vegetable oil
  • 35 drops Cedarwood
  • 15 drops Patchouli
  • 35 drops Bergamot
  • Some jars, pots or other containers for the finished products.

You might find it easier to blend the essential oils together before you start the rest of the process. It’s best to start with a few drops of each oil to get the balance how you like it. You can then add more of one oil and less of another according to taste.

Place the beeswax pellets in a bowl on top of a pan with simmering water. Stir gently as they melt, then add the carrier / vegetable oil.  Give it a good stir and then add your blended essential oils. Stir well to ensure the essential oils are absorbed by the rest of the mix before pouring into the containers that you’ve chosen. And that’s it!

Don’t forget to check out our other solid perfume blogs from earlier in the week. There are plenty of great ideas and also the base recipe so you can design your very own blends. Enjoy!
