Our minimum requirement for all overseas orders remains at £100.00GBP plus postage.

We ship all our orders via courier, or via freight forwarder for larger orders. Unfortunately we do not accept customers arranging their own shipping companies to collect.

Then continue to place your order by choosing items from our online shop. When you have finished ordering and go through to the checkout, you will be guided through the process and prompted to give us all the information we need to process your order efficiently. You will be given the shipping cost before you finalise your order if it is available, and before you have to give your payment details. If for some reason you are not given the shipping cost you will need place your order as usual and we will then email you a quote for shipping within a few working days. Please choose to pay by telephone or fax if this is the case. If anything is out of stock, please remove it from your order to continue.

Bulk Orders

We have a lead time of up to 10 working days for all orders containing bulk sizes (100ml, 500ml, Litres & KG's), so please allow plenty of time when ordering bulk sizes.

Import Duty

You may have to pay import duty on goods you purchase from us. Please check with your local Customs office.

VAT

EEC customers who at the time of ordering that provide us with a valid VAT/EEC Trade number will not be liable to pay UK VAT. If a VAT number is not provided with your order then VAT will be charged. All other customers outside of the EEC do not pay UK VAT.

Transit Times

Customs occasionally carry out random security checks which can sometimes cause a delay of a day or so for clearance. Please allow plenty of time for orders that are needed by a specific date.

UK Delivery

UK Delivery is free of charge for orders over 100.00GBP - We are more than happy to post your order to a friend or family member in the UK. We will need a full name, address and telephone number of the recipient. A person at that address will need to be home to receive and sign for the goods. We have to charge UK VAT for all orders delivered within the UK, but the postage is free to most UK addresses for orders over 100.00GBP. Unfortunately we do not offer a VAT reclamation service. If you order goods by mail order in the UK, you cannot reclaim your VAT.

BFPO Addresses

Payment

Payment can be made by most major credit/debit cards (Visa, Switch/Maestro, Mastercard, American Express) via our secure online shopping or by bank transfer (details available upon request). Any bank charges incurred for bank transfers must be paid for by you, the customer. Goods will only be dispatched upon receipt of full payment. Card transactions are not processed immediately online. A real person processes the payments manually when the order is complete. When you make a payment online your bank is instructed to hold the payment until we actually take the payment.

Payment must be made by bank transfer for all orders over £1000.00GBP.

Dangerous Goods in Transport

Some of our products are Considered Dangerous Goods for Transport, because some products are flammable or are environmentally hazardous in larger amounts. Regulation dictates that we cannot ship these items to some countries. All of the Dangerous Goods on the website are clearly marked with a red diamond symbol on the product page. This includes the majority of essential oils and fragrances.

Orders containing bulk sizes (anything over 30ml per bottle) of Dangerous Goods have to be accompanied by special documentation and need to be packed to specific Air Transport Association requirements and therefore they levy a standard static Dangerous Goods Surcharge of £45.00GBP on top of the shipping cost. This charge is from the shipping company not Amphora. Shipping 10ml bottles does not have a Dangerous Goods Surcharge.

Here is the list of countries we can currently send Dangerous Goods to:

  • Argentina
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Czech Republic

Please be aware that a freight forwarder is mainly for larger shipments (pallets) and can be very expensive for smaller orders. Please enquire.

The information passed to these companies is used only for the purpose of completing your order - e.g. delivering your stuff!

Your right to view, change or amend personal information retained or to withdraw consent in part or in full:

To view your personal information retained by Amphora Holdings Ltd, contact The Data Controller and ask for an ‘Information Subject Access Request’ form to complete. Information will be provided without delay and at the latest within one month of its receipt.

The right to erasure does not provide an absolute ‘right to be forgotten’. You have a right to have personal data erased to prevent it being processed when you withdraw consent. CCTV at Amphora Holdings Ltd, 36 Cotham Hill, Cotham, Bristol BS6 6LA

CCTV footage is recorded for building security. It’s taken by four CCTV cameras, two in the store room and two in the showroom on the ground floor of the building where they don’t unnecessarily intrude on anyone’s privacy but where they best support their purpose.

The Data Controller and authorised employees at Amphora Holdings Ltd are the only persons who have access to the CCTV Footage detailed above. No other person will be granted access to any footage except lawful representation in the case of a breach of security to assist in identifying a perpetrator.

The Information Commissioners Office regulates the use of CCTV footage because it involves the processing of personal information capturing and/or recording images of identifiable individuals. Because CCTV is covered by the Data Protection Act, you have the right to see information held about you, including CCTV images which give away information about you (such as your car number plate). A Subject Access Request will be required for consideration to view any footage and if authorised will be supplied on a DVD unencrypted and will therefore be required to be signed for and collected in person.

The Data Protection Controller at Amphora Holdings Ltd is responsible for CCTV footage, deciding what is recorded, how images should be used and who they should be disclosed to.

Statement of transparency and fairness

Amphora Holdings Ltd regard the personal information collected when manually processed with a business’s purchasing history to be fair to retain and necessary for the specific action or business of marketing and promoting its products and services. The information is protected, it’s not shared with any third parties, it’s not used for any form of automated processing or decision making and is used in a way that people would reasonably expect.

It’s assumed that collecting and retaining this basic information in conjunction with any purchasing history (what you buy from us and how often) will cause no justified adverse effect on businesses or individuals concerned and is there-fore not likely to cause objection or complaint. In the event it does, please contact The Data Controller who will exercise your right to withdraw consent. In circumstances you deem appropriate, you can exercise your right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate supervisory authority and or seek a judicial remedy without undue delay, at the latest within one month.

Animal Testing Policy

Amphora Aromatics does not test any of its products or ingredients on animals.

Amphora Aromatics opposes the use of animal testing of cosmetics and is pleased to note that an EU wide ban on this practice is now in place.

Many years ago we were made aware that most of the ingredients used in cosmetics had at some point in history been tested on animals, so to undermine the testing of new ingredients we joined the initiative of ‘fixed cut off dates’ which meant that we would not accept any new Cosmetic ingredient which had been animal tested after January 1991. We insist that all of our suppliers conform to a fixed cut off date protocol.

The animal testing of formulations (mixtures of ingredients) has always seemed indefensible to us and we are pleased to note that this has become replaced, by law, on an industry wide basis, by safety assessments based on the properties of the individual ingredients and their known safety properties in combination.
