The Christmas and New Year period means lots of things but you can guarantee that it will involve a party or two! So, we’ll be looking at how pure essential oils can help you to prepare, enjoy and recover from those parties.

The Christmas and New Year period is a busy and exciting time. There are family gatherings, parties, work nights out and lots of indulgence in food and drink. It can also be a very tiring time of year, especially whilst juggling work, children and everything else that’s going on.

With such a busy schedule everyone needs a lift every so often so we thought we’d put together an uplifting party blend to help you get up and go. It’s a lovely, energizing blend to help get you in the mood and enjoy some well-deserved celebrations.

Next time you’re getting ready to go out, try diffusing or burning the following blend for a 100% natural pick me up!

Take:

3 drops of Grapefruit essential oil

2 drops of Lime essential oil

1 drop of Peppermint essential oil

This is a great blend to uplift and motivate, to lift spirits and get you going. The sweet, fruity aroma of the citrus oils complement each other nicely and the addition of peppermint oil gives the blend an invigorating edge.

Just add the oils to your burner or vaporiser. Or, try adding it to floor of your shower before you head out and allow the steam to diffuse the gorgeous aromas.

Grapefruit is a beautiful oil to use during the winter months. It’s fresh and sunny aroma will help bring light into your life and its natural anti-depressant properties make it useful for treating those who suffer from seasonal affective disorder (SAD).

Grapefruit is a natural stimulant which affects both the mind and body. It stimulates the nervous system which helps you feel more alert and awake. It’s a great aroma to help prevent procrastination and help you to focus (on getting ready to go!).

The uplifting properties of Lime make it a hugely beneficial oil for combatting feelings of stress and anxiety. This is great oil to burn when preparing for various events, whether it be preparing a large dinner or organising a family party. It will help to calm the mind to reduce feelings of stress when you’ve got a long to-do list to get through!

Lime also a natural disinfectant so it’s a great addition to any household cleaning regime to help ward off colds and other viruses which can be more prominent when there are more people around the house.

Peppermint is well loved for its ability to invigorate and refresh both the mind and body. It’s a well-loved scent and ingredient during the Christmas period, used to flavor various sweet treats (including the candy canes hanging from the tree in the USA). Peppermint really is the ideal oil to awaken the mind and combat mental fatigue.

We hope you love this blend as much as we do and that you're able to have plenty of fun over the next few weeks.
