Usage & methods of application:

Primarily known for its wonderful uplifting properties, Grapefruit is a great oil to turn to in times of stress or depression. It's also used to alleviate fatigue and can stimulate immunity and so can be useful in warding off colds and flu.

Grapefruit is an astringent oil so is used to treat dull and oily skin as well as acne. It is often found in blends aimed at reducing cellulite and is a diuretic which can help to reduce water retention and oedema (dropsy).

Grapefruit is a beautiful oil to burn or vaporise. It can help to defend against airborne bugs and viruses and at the same time will infuse the air with its wonderfully uplifting aroma.

For use in massage or when blended in creams or lotions it should be diluted to 5% maximum. It's not a sensitising oil but care should still be taken. Unlike most citrus oils it's not a photosensitiser and can be used as a substitute for other citrus oils when photosensitivity is a problem.

Organic version also available.

Blends well with:

You may find that Grapefruit blends particularly well with bergamot, lavender, geranium, palmarosa and frankincense.
